It means mass of matter always remain same. what about human beings, animals and plants, they grow from a tiny cell and grow to a mass of 100 kg to many many tonnes. how about that new mass or new matter. For example a whale is created from a tiny cell ( thats the matter, having mass of few ounces) and grows to several tonnes. it is like a new matter created of several tonnes.isn't it.

Neglecting nuclear physics, the beings you mention consume huge amounts of food, and it is this material which is being converted to additional weight. Something has NOT been made from nothing.

no no no. First of all, matter CAN be destroyed, by turning it into energy in nuclear reactions.
Secondly, animals, people and plants gain mass by eating it, not by magically making new matter grow inside themselves out of nothing. They take existing matter from outside, put it inside and make it part of themselves. matter is not created or destroyed in that process, just changes position.

yes,the question asked by u is true but according to me matter can also be conserved. matter varys from micro to macroscopic things. matter is a vast & infinite lump that exists in this whole universe.in one way it is in expressible.
