ok, I just dont get it. theres this girl I work with, and I hear from alot of people that she hates me. She started after me, and I never really introduced myself to her, But I dont do that to many people, because turnover is so high. Well my other coworkers tell me that she talks about me and says Im a B*tch, and that I was mean to her. lol she doesnt even know me. I go out with a bunch of coworkers on thursday nights, and she didnt go a few weeks ago because I was going. and she actually did come out with us last night and I guess she told people before she went out that she might do it again if I'm not a b*tch to her. lol I have no idea what shes talking about. I just assume that shes jealous of something, and take it as a compliment. Just wonder why she would give someone she hates so much control over her social life like that, lol. Well, anyways... why is she like this and how can I deal with it?

I worked in a large office setting some years ago.
In the beginning there was the selective few that I thought was snobbish, but turns out they was not, they was just the quiet type. I ended up making friends with just about everyone there.
A new girl started working there, she was my age.
From the very beginning she was always in competition with me. It didnt bother me at first.
She had over heard another friend asking me questions about my daughter whom had died (1990) a few years earlier to cancer.
Anyway I got promoted and this girl just about lost it. She was constantly trying to do my work and even took things off my desk. Fine, I thought... Let her have at it. But she messed it up all the time. So I politely asked her not take things off my desk, that I could handle it just fine.
She Retorted, YOUR DAUGHTER IS LUCKY!
I said why is that? She said because she got to die to get away from you.
Needless to say, I couldnt Handle it. I lost all control and wanted to hurt the girl.. But instead, I left work that day.
I ended up never returning to that job, it was just to much to take. My loss and my pain, and this girl throwing it in my face, over a job. GOOD GRIEF.
You cant pick who you work with or how they are going to react/act. All you can do is, be the best employee that you can and try your best to get along with everyone you can.
Since these other co-workers are telling you what she is saying, ask them to ask her specifically what it is that you did.
If not ask her yourself. Just say, did I do something to offend you, because if I did, I didnt mean to.

Maybe its all just a big misunderstanding. Well, your an adult now, corner her and ask her whats wrong in a posotive way. No need for "what the **** is your problem?" questions. Be calm and cool. If shes still giving you a hard time, well obviously she needs to go to church before coming back; so tell your boss. Hope that helps.

You haven't been friendly to her. Are did you realize it. I am wondering about you. Could you be snobbish to her?. Ask yourself. You say she could be jealous of you. What is it about you that make you think such? You are not any more than she is. Get off the ***** rag. Learn to be nice to the new people. You will be new some where and get pay back. Treat her like you would like to be treated.
