A residency depending on the specialty you want to go in to can last anywhere from 3-7 years. The pay can vary from program to program. The hours are often long like running about 30 hours on call but hospitals are trying to change this because of the way it can affect the amount of sleep they get.

A site where you can go for even more information is at: http://www.aamc.org (if that doesn't work try .com)

Now calm down krystal.... That's it.. O.K. Now look krystal when your head stops spinning & you 'get your bearings', get serious & try to remember not to get in over your head girl. I can sense your hyperexcitement ; you already have the cart before the horse. Try to realize that before residency there are many, many years of difficult schooling. It's nice for any girl to have dreams, however perhaps you should focus on a more sensible job for a girl like receptionist or a secretary. There are many good clerical jobs in retailing & business too that would be a good challenge for you. Or 1st krystal, try nursing school ! I'm sure once you research it, you'll see I'm accurate in my assessment. good luck.
