I'm not talking about the case necessarily...just look at who has sided with whom.
Can anyone honestly tell me that race relations in this country are getting better instead of WORSE?

I live less than 45 mins away and I disagree.
This case is getting more and more out of hand as we proceed.
Neo-Nazi groups have been posting these boys names on the internet along with their addresses trying to get someone to take them out.
Overrated? I think underrated is more like it.

It's a shame! There should be no racism in 2007! What a dirty rotten shame!

Race relations should not be an issue now or anytime else in the future. People need to learn that we are all on this planet together, whether we like it or not. They say beauty is only skin deep, well so is the color of a person's skin. The main part is what is inside. Most of us by now have learned this, but yes there are a few backwards racists that need to get rid of their holier than thou attitude. We need to bond together as the human race and take care of each other and our surroundings before it is too late. It is up to us now to make sure it does not get worse. God Bless.

I am a pretty common sense sort, not a racist, and I will say this: This case highlights the death of common sense in our society. American society is falling into ruins because people are bent on "taking care of their own" at all costs, with their ability to judge right or wrong devolving like a vestigial organ.
People who dwell in the twilight land of "What I Feel", with no broader frame of reference -- to history or logic or philosophy -- are dragging this country, and the world, back to barbarism and pre-enlightenment.

In their quest for black voters, Democratic presidential front-runners Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama raced to Selma, Ala., six months ago to commemorate a historic civil rights march. Each used tightly scripted church sermons to declare their personal links to the freedom fighters of the 1960s.
But Thursday, as thousands poured into a small Louisiana town to protest the case of six black youths that has emerged as a cause celebre for the modern-day civil rights movement, the candidates kept their distance -- addressing the issue with measured statements and appearances this week on black-oriented radio shows

Well I still have diverse oppinions on this, I believe that this little town is a product of those small towns that like to get cut-off from the outside world and some of the residents that live with their parents, grandparents beliefs on racism and superiority based on the color of their skin.

to some degree i think we always will be, it is our culture preferences. i don't choose my friends by the color of their skin but their likes and dislikes, morals, etc.
for me they were getting better until the world came into my living room (CNN).
CNN is repeating the parents (of the six) version of events.
