I haven't really given it much thought. The uncertainty of what I really want boggles me. I want many things, but that's just what they are, things. So when I get something I usually ask myself was it really worth it? It's a bit troubling not knowing what it is you really want to have, be it a thing, a feeling, someone, etc... But the real question here is, what will you do when you finally find what you really wanted, that is, what you needed. Does "the search" ever stop?

search shouldnt stop, life is a continous cycle that includes our needs and wants and the road has no stop sign.

If I got everything I wanted and needed I think I would be more happy and fulfilled but there would probably be something else I'd come to want so the search would never end.

It's not going to happen. People will always invent or create wonderful things you didn't know you wanted. The ad people will tempt you further.

relax.
there's not too many things i need and/or want..... just the necessities. and i'm not naturally materialistic.... so i don't want like 800 billion things everyday; of the things i do want that aren't necessities.... i can set a limit, and i can wait on them i. i'm not greedy. So it's not a "more more" thing with me that drives me to desire more stuff. it's all just stuff; nice to have, but can't take it with you.
