I have the same thing happening...very painful to stand or walk right after laying or sitting for a bit. My mom says it's just my hip bones spreading to get ready for baby. It didn't happen this much when I was pregnant w/my daughter but I'm having a boy and I dunno if that has anything or maybe the baby is bigger. My next doctor's appt. I'm asking him about it but he may just say it's normal in pregnancies. Good Luck hun and congrats on soon to be bundle of joy!

During pregnancy, the hormone relaxin is secreted which helps the ligaments to stretch, thus widening the hip bones and providing maximal room for the birth of your baby.

The extra weight of the uterus also helps to stretch the ligaments supporting it which can cause the discomfort you described.

The stretching that occurs from the secretion of relaxin is a prime reason why pregnant women are cautioned not to over exercise - it can be easy to overextend yourself or do damage to ligaments since they are more prone to stretching. It's for this reason that you might feel very sore after walking too much the day before.

It is a normal part of pregnancy and as long as you're not doing any activity out of the ordinary, you should be fine. Just try to take it easy and stay hydrated when this happens.

its just the increased weight on your pelvis area. and also your pelvis stretching out so the baby will fit thru. its perfectly normal. i felt that all summer and it really really sucked. this is my second pregnancy so i felt it more this time and im almost 30 weeks now but the pain decreased a lot about 2 weeks go! it was really weird, so as the baby moves and find different ways to lay it might go away for you for awhile...i really hope it doesnt come back again that bad! so you are not alone in this, i feel your pain!!!!
when it got really bad i soaked in a warm bath for awhile and that helped a lot too
