This JUST happened to me and I am SO annoyed!!
I feel like it's your duty to choose an answer, after people have spent their valuable time and effort answering your question. what do you all think?

Another thing is that when you let a question go to vote, many times people will choose either the first answer or the first decent answer. Most people are not willing to read through 40 answers for 1 pont!! That's another reason that the "community" vote is somewhat biased!

oh i've done that. especially if i extend the question, or havent been on for a day or so.... sometimes both. It's the worst when that one open question is stuck there in the middle of all those resolved ones.... you completely overlook it sometimes. i always feel bad..... others took the time to answer, so i fell i should pick a best. it's a bummer.

Are you angry at yourself or another? Either way, these things happen. It is MOST unfortunate when the answers were not simple a "yes" or "no," but rather a long response.
I have been on both ends of this problem. This happened, months ago..... I didn't appreciate this one individual who ASKED me to write a story and then forgot about the whole thing. The cool thing was this.... I loved my finished product and felt ok about it when I calmed down. The question had prompted me to write a very funny story ....... So I came out a winner.
I have also been the person who has forgotten to choose. It was definitely lost among my MANY questions. I posted an apology at the site.
Either way, mistakes happen. It's good forgive others as well as ourselves.

WATCH CAREFULLY....THIS IS ANIMATED♥

YES? I was annoyed to. I mean you get like 3 points for choosing a best answer so why don't they just wait till you vote? I forgot about a question and all the sudden it was already done in voting. i didn't even get to choose the best answer I asked.

Yes I have, and no, I don't think it's that serious. Frankly, I ask questions because I'm interested in the answer, not to give people points. Most of the time, I'll choose, but sometimes I can't decide and would rather let majority rule.

Nope only when I got suspended. If I let it go into voting I do it on purpose - it means all the answers sucked equally (or were equally brilliant but that's less likely).

I also never check to see who the Community chooses as best answer - if I cared I would have chosen it myself.

You are dead right.Once i asked a question and even after extended time,I did not find any answer which was up to or even nearest to my expectations.I let it go and the best answer selected through voting was best of the lot though not of my approval.
I thought it was fair enough.Things happen and at times, let them happen.

Sometimes there is so many good ones.. I let the masses decide.. on some others I pick it.. It all depends... But the whole thing is with my questions.. there is no right or wrong answer..

So religious nuts choose as best answer the one I liked least. Never happened again

I never worried about it. If an answer didn't bite me from the go I moved on and forget about it.
