after making the methanol molecule with a 3D kit and ozidizing it by removing 2 "H" atoms (not from the -OH group) and replace with an oxygen.

#1) name the substance made??

after making 2 more identical molecules, react the -OH groups.

#2) name the bond formed?
#3) write the equation for this reaction

then build a methanol and ust the acid molecules we made before. once again react the PH groups and

1) formic acid HC(O)OH
2) I can name the bond formed "single" or "ether linkage." Is either of those what you want, or were you looking for something more camp, like Harry?
3) In the presence of H₂SO₄ and under reflux, the following reaction occurs: 2CH₃OH→(CH₃)₂O+H₂O
4) OK, now I'm getting the hang of how you want the bond named: ester linkage
5) HC(O)OH+CH₃OH→HC(O)OCH₃
