I used tap or well water w/my daughter from the beginning and bottled water if i was out and about. If the water is safe for you to drink then it's fine for your baby.

Water from most taps in the U.S is safe to use in making baby formula without sterilizing. And bottles can be washed properly in the dishwaser.

i would not stop sterilizing water at all at any age 1 year or 60 years of age tap water is absolutly poison floride can be harmful to ingest along with lead chlorine and other additves. i suggest a britta or pur water filter for you fausets and now pur has flavor options thatll keep your child interested in water which is absolutlely great for health. also kroger has distilled water (the best nothing in it at all because evaporation is the cleanest) only 79 cents for a whole gallon which is cheaper than a 20 oz bottle water that has additives.

My kids dr told me not to at all because they put floride in the tap water for you and other minerals and things u need so it actually takes the flouride out if you sterilize it so i never did for all my kids i have 5 they never had any ill effects also my kids dr said not to sterilize the nipples cause it breaks them down so quickly any the actually can trap germs once they are broken down but see what ur babys dr says first

It varies, but I wouldn’t completely stop sterilizing it. Anywhere after 5 months should be fine to use tap water, but occasionally give the baby sterilized water. Keep switching back and forth for a few months, and then it would be fine to just always use tap water.

The only time you would need to sterlize the water is if you have well water.
If you live anywhere that has municpal water supply, you do not need to. In fact, in some cases it can be a bad idea and actually add things to the water when you boil it.
It is also NOT a good idea to use any type of filter (Britta, etc.) because it adds excessive amounts of Silver and Nickel to the water.

until they reach one year old, then you can just introduce regular milk. Not everyone does it but that is the right age to stop sterilizing. You may want to ask a pediatric doctor just to be sure. You can call the local hospital and ask a pediatric nurse. Hey good luck and have a wonderful day or night.
