Phil Spector was an overrated "music genius", that happened at the right place and time to become the music "icon" he purportedly was. Spector used hype to promote him in the biz--he was doing nothing new that any other music producers of the day were doing.
Spector led a very dark, dysfunctional personal life that likely gave birth to his eccentric natures. And I suspect he's victim to a degenerative mental disorder. And he's an alcoholic who flies into drunken violent rages. It's quite possible he blacked out and shot the girl dead.

Without knowing any more about him than I do, which is that he is on trial for murder, I would say he pretty much creeps me out.
It also scares me that a sharp attorney can talk a jury into splitting its vote on a defendent who is pretty obviously guilty. I suppose manslaughter could always be a possible alternative finding, but he still creeps me out.

What's especially disturbing is hearing interviews with people who worked with him and also interviews from his ex-wife Ronnie Spector. His former associates talk about how brilliant he was but also that he was a very strange person. His ex-wife said he kept her a virtual prisoner during their marriage.

And I DO think he's guilty. He has a history of pulling guns on women. Unfortunately, I think he pulled the trigger this time. He even SAID he thought he killed her to his chauffeur.
