If my imagination stops, then so do my dreams and my life goes on a downward slope from that point on. Imagining what it would be like to do something you've never done is a large part of what motivates people.
Dreaming of a better future or finding a cure or imagining what life could be like if we could fly with individual wings - these are the things born of imagination and have been the results of many great inventions.
i.e. I wonder if there are flowers blooming somewhere besides earth - and what color would they be?
Can I capture electricity or sound?
Age has nothing to do with imagination unless a person has given up on life.

No, not at all. My imagination is getting better and younger than ever. My memory is not the same, though, but I have a friend that said to me that as we grow older, we tend to select better what to remember. When we are young, we are learning and absorbing all the information, that's why our memory keeps all the junk. As we grow older, we select more and use only what is necessary for us, since we are not in the "learning" mode anymore... Therefore, loss of memory is just a sign of wisdom... lol... it makes sense to me.
Peace!

absolutely not!
I love writing stories, and the plot bunnies get so numerous that it's difficult to focus on one project. The aging of the body doesn't mean the mind goes with it. Ray Bradbury is an excellent example. I think that keeping the mind nimble~especially with science fiction and fantasy~helps a lot.
If I gave in to what illness is doing to me... Instead, I try to remain active at least mentally.
Which reminds me... I owe a lot of posts at those story forums!

No... I read great books, teach wonderful children, and listen to my daughter who has a vivid imagination. These activities, among others, keep my imagination from aging.

My imagination get younger than my life because certain thing life can't do, imagination can.

What a beautiful question. Yes, sometimes I think it is. I think it's an unfortunate byproduct of knowledge.
