He wasn't then and he wouldn't be now. You bet, he would be in support of the Jena 6 and affirmative action. He would be urging that demonstrators not be violent while at the same time, expressing his view that their rage must come out sometime, if their demands aren't met.

Oh my oh my.....
Yes he was in support of all races because he was in support of GOD'S PEOPLE and that includes all races. His hope was that man could see people like God does, no color.
I don't believe he would be in favor of affirmative action. I don't believe he would be in favor of anyone nor any institution favoring, whether it be forceful and media fed or not, ANY race.
Dr. King was a man of peace. But most of all, he was Jesus' child. He spoke His word and lived it til the end of his earthly life.
We should all aspire to his example.

I am a white conservative male and it may surprise you but Dr.King was one of my heroes. I was a child while all that was going on.
What he was was a true nephew of Uncle Sam. He did everything in his power to open our eyes to see that the constitution means what it says for all men. While many white people believed black people to be less than human, Dr. King, through his humanity made us realize that these were, indeed, people. People being abused, People being hurt. By being non-violent even when beaten, fire-hosed and having dogs set upon them, his marchers made us realize that the abusers were much more like animals than his people.
It made us ashamed. But he did not want our sympathy, he did not want our guilt. All he wanted, all he fought for was the chance to prove that they they were men. That they should not be judged by the color of their skin but the content of their character.
I think he would be be alarmed at what has become of many young black people in America. He would take issue with the race baiters. He was for unity not separation. He was against special treatment for either white or black. He died to get black people a chance to prove they could succeed. Not to see them produce illegitimate children at nearly a 75% rate in some urban areas. Not to see rap stars standing around smoking dope, while near naked women shake their bodies in a vulgar manner.
His vision of black people was more like Leave it to Beaver. A nuclear family living the American dream right next door to June and Ward. "Blacks and white children playing together".
He sought racial harmony. He would be appalled at the black leaders who seek to drive us apart.
