Your only limit is your imagination.
If you want to do more than what you must do then no-one will stop you. Unless it harms yourself or others. If you want to ignore your friends and family and do more than what you must do that is your choice. If you want to get obsessed with feeling like you must overachieve then accept the consequence that it may lead to early retirement or early death.
If you want to do less than what you must do, then accept the consequences of that too. There is no underlimit. Persons may begin to point fingers at you and blame you and you may even find yourself looking for another place to do less than what you must do. But the choice remains yours to make.
