my dad's a lawyer and i love him. i know he treats ppl fair. he's just like that. he's not one of those stereotypical lawyers, he reminds me of the dad in To Kill A Mockingbird
but there is a group of ppl in school and they wont stop telling me that my dad's a "dick, asshole, retard, jerk, etc.etc."
and i can take that i guess. but they're going after a really really good friend of mine now. they tell her "she's an *** for hanging out w/ me and my family"
they wont stop no matter who i go to and i cant stop them.
idk why im even asking random ppl what i should do if i dont even know myself. i have one friend(not very close, but a friend) who thinks im taking this too hard, but they dont have to listen to ppl talking about how "effing retarded" their dad is.
am i overreacting?
idk,but i just want them to stop. i dont want to put up with their crap anymore. ive been dealing with this since 7th gr.
i dont wanna deal with it anymore

First, don't punch anyone. These people sound like jealous losers to me. Ignore what ignorant people say, when they can't get a reaction from you, they will move on to some who will give them a reaction. If this person that you refer to as your friend is really your friend, she won't let what these people say, stop her from hanging out with you and your family. Friends are there when times are good and bad. Ignore the jacka$$es and enjoy your life. You're lucky to have a father that you obviously admire.

Well since my dad is no longer here, If anybody says anything bad about him, well lets say they will really reconsider doing it again. High school is full of a bunch of immature idiots. Its best to try not to get all fired up when a bunch of those idiots give you a hard time. You know your dad, and that he is a good guy and thats the most important.
On the other hand, some people only understand pain, and you may have to inflict some.

Seriously - it is jealousy. I'd bet that one or more of them comes from a broken home where "that effing lawyer" ruined their lives.
You can't stop them from being the immature idiots that they are - and as much as it bothers you, the sooner you realize that nothing you do or say will stop it, the better off you'll be.
