hello i badly need your help me make a good letter asking for salary increase?

I need help... My dad asked me a favor to make a letter for salary increase he worked on ship(chief engr.) for a years and he wanted to send a letter to there GM and i need some powerful words to impress there GM as i am not really good in doing letters like this... so please help me.. my dad cant make it on he's own coz he still in the ocean. please please.. i hope to have an answer very soon. thanks
