One of the biggest issues men have with some branches of feminism (not all ) is there absolutley no effort to reduce collatarell damage . If a guy gets hurt in the process of gender strife no big deal.

A lot of men (not all ) try to be very specific about there gripes without inflicting collateral damge on women .

This probably one the biggest issues out there .There are many detractors to feminism becuase to be honest it is percieved as a blunt instrument of destruction rather than a surgeons sharp scalpel excising the cancer of gender hatred that pervades society today .

I would hesitate to say that most men are worried about inflicting collateral damage on feminists — their attitude, at least based on the activities of this forum, is one of "Just nuke 'em." But we do need more smart bombs around here. Either that, or no bombs at all.

I think there is a great deal of verbal carpet bombing going on with feminists. They keep telling us that they are for equality for both genders. Well that's fine but that is not what men see or deal with. So saying it is about equality does not make it so. Besides when they say that they want gender equality but then make spiteful remarks about men what are we supposed to beleive. When men get hit and abused by women but have no recourse then we should beleive that some feminist is out there protecting the rights of both genders or just hers. When men go through hell because our children have been taken from us and we are pushed out of our homes then we should be thankful that feminists are out there protecting only her rights and telling me it is about equality right? What feminists say and what men experience in life at the hands of feminism don't match up yet feminists continually stick to the equality argument. If a man gets screwed over and complains about it then we hear that our current suffering is nothing compared to what women suffered for thousands of years before feminism. Read that real close. Why is my current suffering less important than the suffering of people long gone. And the people who are angry about this past suffering were not around to experience it yet the suffering of a gender now means nothing. When men see this equality that women claim they are fighting for and we no longer hear what pigs we are or never hear another woman gloat that she is about to take a man to the cleaners then and only then will I believe that feminists are out for gender equality until the it just rings untrue and hollow.

With this type of statement, you don't need to qualify different types of feminism: all feminists is what you're talking about if you're making this kind of assertion. That is, you're saying feminists don't care about how feminism impacts men. You're saying there is a lot of damage to be left at the door of a movement that made women stop caring about anything and anyone--men in particular.

You're talking about a movement that is comprised of people who have male children, male partners, male friends, male fathers. Contrary to what some will have you believe, feminists are not out to "get" men. What would be the purpose? To kick their husbands and brothers and sons in the face? I honestly am shocked when people buy this line of "reasoning." So, yea, I get the whole thing about perceptions of feminism, and it's an unfortunate way to see things. But if people go beyond the perception, they might be surprised. Or not. It's worth a try if people really see things in the extreme of "gender hatred"--I'm not sure that's how bad things are, but I could be wrong.

I think you have a fair point. But I think that it is more accurate to just say that some People make statements that are too broad and overgeneralise.

Re detractors to feminism ... I believe that most people who don't like feminism believe that it is anti-men. Simple as that and it is simply not true. Most women don't hate men and most men and women who believe in feminism don't hate men.

Another thought..I'm not going to censor my words because someone may not like them and call me a man hating dike who stinks..
