One summer my uncle brought his 10 kids to visit for a whole week. My mom had 15 kids to look after for a whole week. It was like summer camp.lol

Yeah, I loved when the ones from out of state came to visit for a wk or so. A bunch of our relatives living nearby would come to our house also and there would be people sleeping everywhere. We always seemed to have plenty of food and had a great time. We kids would sing and dance and do little 'shows', talent or not. Then next time, we'd go visit them and the fun would start all over again. I miss those days with everyone living so far apart now.

I enjoyed being the Mom and having my kids cousins stay with us much more than my own childhood. When we lived in the same state my two sisters were good about dropping my neice and nephew off for a week or more. We didn't have much money but we had food and a kiddie pool or two. We had apartment pools to swim in and my sisters were always going camping and we could all visit. They were both on disability and had park passes and practically lived at a lake camp site during the summer.

Your poor mom. but it must have been fun for the kids. Family is great.

Wait until you have three very beautiful daughters, and you come home and there are the boys from school all over the place.

Or you go on holiday and some of their schoolmates are there too. And you find them climbing up the roof, trying to say "Hi", to the girls.

15 or so kids around me now. I don't think so. It is school holidays in Aussie now, and a visit to the Mall, makes me want to just not 'go there'.

My cousin are all in Melbourne, and South Africa. I phone them.

I was very fortunate, when I was younger all my cousins and I lived on the same block. My Uncle was in the Air Force and was sent to England so some of my cousins were born there.
When they returned, we all went to Riverside California for a reunion. That was about 1957-8. I am still very close to two of my cousins. They both now live in FL

we used to take turns - cousins would stay at our house for a week or two then we would go stay at theirs for the same. usually about a 4 week period in between, so that we wouldn't get too sick of each other. also sometimes the cousin that was closest in age to us would come for a week so we could spend some good alone "cousin" time.
had a second cousin (her grandma was my great aunt) who was 9 months youngr than me and we sometimes went and stayed at her grandma's so we could spend time together.
none of my cousins lived close enough to see all the time - about an hour away so we only saw each other on holidays and our time during the summer

Wow!! 15 kids ... your mother must have had the patience of an angel!
I do remember times when my cousin would visit us for a week or so in the summer. We had a great time! What I remember the most was when myself and my two younger sisters would visit my aunt and uncle and their three kids. One boy who was about one year older than me, one daughter who was almost one year younger than me and another daughter who was closer to the age of my youngest sister. My aunt and uncle lived in Idaho. They had a huge amount of land (or so I thought). They had goats, chickens and my uncle had his racing pigeons. I learned how to milk a goat, and for breakfast we drank fresh goat milk. Nasty stuff! Wonderful memories!

Sad. I saw my cousins a very few times as a kid in the mid 60s/VERY early 70s. Today, over 35 years later, I have no idea if they're alive or dead at this point.

I was the cousin.
I always spent part of the summer with my cousin’s family as a farm hand. We did find time for plenty of fun, especially in the swimming hole.

She can get a visitor's visa if she is only coming for a short visit and will not be working in Canada.
