It's a liquid made using camphor that is sold in a green bottle, smells like camphor and is good for insect bites and minor scrapes and cuts. It's also sold in a gel form that you can use on cold sores.
Here's link where you can buy it online:

I buy stuff from this site all the time and they are very reliable and their stuff comes really fast.

Campho Phenique is a liquid sold in drug stores that is used to stop the pain from canker sores in the mouth, itchy bug bites, etc. You can get it at any drug store and most grocery stores. It's a very small bottle, but since you put it on with a cotton swab, one bottle can last you for YEARS ... and it does last that long, too.
The ingredients are 'camphor' and 'phenol' or 'camphorated phenol' ... If you use this, please read the directions and make sure you understand them. They are very simple, but if you don't read them thoroughly, you could use this incorrectly and cause yourself more pain. The only thing is that most people think that a canker sore on the inside of the mouth is 'inside the body' and it's not ... and I've used this since I was a baby in my mouth ... and I'm now 57 years old, and have had NO 'ill effects' from that.

It's for cold sores. It's an antiviral medication. But you can use any of the over the counter ones. Abreva is the newest and works the best.

Camphophenique, well...I'm not too sure that it is readily available anymore...but my grandma used to always put that on my chiggers.
It's in a little green bottle, or used to be.
If that was the question you had (about chiggers)...then try clear fingernail polish...it will suffocate them.
