Yes you can do it with a calculator. Try evaluating the function with 2.4999 for x and try it again for 2.49999 and 2.5001 and 2.50001 and compare the results. If all four answers are virtually the same then that will tell you the limit.

However, the more common way to solve this problem is to factor the numerator into the product of two binomials and then cancel any common factors with the denominator, then evaluate with x=2.5

Limit = 25 - 4(6.25)/5 + 5

= 25 - 5.4 + 5

= 24.6

yea you can but you can also do it by hand using L'hopitals rule Just take the derivative of the numerator and the denominator while still deferentiable
