Yes in the service I had a few that were writing military members overseas. My friend Billy was always nice and cheerful and after I came home me and some shipmates actually drove 600 miles to go find him and surprise him at his school. It was great. Now He is in the service and I am proud to call him a friend. We also still stay in touch.
