get counseling instead of an education?

no, stay in school. you've already made it at least 9 years. dont throw it away now.

I guess it depends on how bad it is. If I were able to I would seek treatment and continue. If you just aren't able to function at the moment then it might be a good idea to take a semester off and get yourself back in shape. I suffer from depression and I know sometimes it can just stop you in your tracks.
I do mean that you should finish high school though, for sure. If you have to take a semester off though its not the end of the world.

I hated school, & couldn't handle it so I took "special ed.",/& recource classes, survived high school & graduated-you can do the same, talk to your counciler.-don't waste your life & drop out.
