Um no ... why would you not tell the teacher? Afraid they might talk you into staying? They are exactly THE people to talk to. Teachers do their job because they care about kids. Tell them why and what's up and they may want to help you. Some of my teachers were my heroes. Let them help ... there are some that will for sure.
Dropping out = BAD idea. Do you think it will actually be easier in the real world? Fat chance. Without a h.s. diploma you are pretty much screwed. Unless you want to be a Wal - Mart greeter for the rest of you life. High school is easy compared to real life ... hang in there and learn how to solve your problems while you have people who can hep you. Once your get out into the real world you'll find less and less people willing to do that.

Well, you apparently have learned to read and write pretty well, if this is yourself you are talking about, And to be fair, the only things I Learned in school, that I have used very often, Besides day to day math and English, (And I was a pretty good student), are the vocational arts that I learned, Woodworking, Metal working, Arts, etc. And a lot of schools have stopped teaching those.
The choice is yours, if indeed it is you we are discussing., But If you do drop out, I would ask you to go get your G.E.D. right away, and don't put it off. That usualy works as good as a diploma. Do it while this stuff is fresh in your head. From what I have seen in a pretty long life, is that school is not what makes a person smart, and people will usually learn what they need to, (except how to avoid addictions, that has to usualy be learned the hard way, unfortunately!)As they go along. If you want a professional job eventualy, tho, you will have to have schooling of some sort. so think about that. It would be easier to do good college work, by staying in school right now, and trying to make good grades for the rest of your time there. But, school isnt for everyone, and some of the smartest and most reasonably successful people I know were dropouts, so.....

My friend who ever you are do not drop out of high school now that i've put my 2cents in with that statement, as far as the teacher is concerned they couldn't care less i droped out and i'm living my father saying . . .
" It's a debt you'll take all the way to the grave "
I don't know what your reason is but trust me, i could be the poster child even at my age for having the most regrets
for being a high school drop out . . .
i can't say enough so i'll leave you with my quote . . .
" In the garden of life the flowers are high school graduates
and the weeds are the drop outs, flowers get picked,
weeds get crapped on . . . i edit this cause i just noticed the
maxine . . . my apologies . . .

If you are planning to drop out, just do it.
Then as soon as the law will allow go take your GED and at least you'll have that, if & when you ever decide say 10 years from now. That you want to go to college.
I did that, but mine was for medical reasons.
But I did take a GED. I went back to school 10 years latet, got my As, then BA, and then went on and got my Masters.
It's a lot better when it's your idea, not someone elses.

I don't think you have to tell the teachers anything. But if you're considering dropping out maybe you should speak to someone. Please don't do anything you'll regret for the REST of your life. Education is the most important thing in this world. Unless you want you join the army or work in construction or even work at waffle house for the rest of your life. Then maybe you need to wake the hell up.

You dont even have to let the school know.
If your of legal age of your state, you can just walk out and never come back. After so many missed days at a certain age, you'll be considered a dropout, and therefore dropped from thier academic rosters. It would be better to talk to a guidance counseler though, and let them know your going to dropout, and they'll help you get your GED.

i comprehend you do not prefer to pay attention this, in spite of the undeniable fact that it will be the biggest MISTAKE OF YOUR existence!! No. i'm merely kidding. What i for my area prefer to assert is that throwing in the towel of faculty won't make issues extra helpful. in case you drop out of faculty you will not have the means to get a job everywhere (different than perhaps McDonalds or Walmart, that's minimum salary) and do not need the means to assist your self. you will ought to circulate back to college besides to get your GED so which you would be able to quite get a job. i've got faith which you're smart, yet without a level you will not make it everywhere in a profession and you will not have money to do plenty mutually with your existence. a minimum of end severe college and take yet another 6 months and get qualified in something like taking CNA instructions so which you would be able to get an excellent job.

Sounds like you have already made up your mind to drop out. You need to inform your school and parents.
You also need to make a plan to obtain your GED or the equivalent. Don't ruin your life without a HS diploma.

Why do you want to drop out?? Not only are you ruining your life, your giving yourself a label. Do you want to be known as a high school drop out for the rest of your life? Do you want to work minimum wage jobs for the rest of your life? Just keep at it, you'll get through it, and trust me you'll be glad you did.

Don't be a quitter. You will set a pattern for the rest of your life. Why shouldn't the teachers know?? If you are grown up enough to make this decision, you must face the consequences and explain your actions to those who need to know.
