Emo is just a fad. It's gonna pass soon, and Zep will last forever. Who in 30 years will say "MCR had such an impact on the history of rock"?

*edit: Emo who listens to emo:
But can you say that all these emo bands are acually innovative? Most of the bands we see as classic today did something that made them stand out, they broke down barriers, or at least have talent. 30 years from now, will MCR fans look back and say "ohh yea, i can still relate to this, the cutting my my wrist over nothing" but 30 years after say Pink Floyd's Money (acually, it's 34 years...) we can all still relate to the concept of corruption do to money.

Elmo?

Edit:

Oh.

It's actually hard to say if you're right or not. They won't make as much of an impact as bands like the Beatles or Led Zeppelin, or even the less mainstream but still incredibly influential bands like the Ramones or the Stooges, but emo music has been around for a decade or so by now. Scary but true. I only think it will rise, but like all genres, it will hit a certain point and die off. But there are so many emo bands today...they're taking influence from the emo bands years ago and contemporary bands as well. I don't think they'll just go away in just three to five years. It's only begun to grow.

Elmo's world!!! I remember that show!

Anyway... because Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd (and other classic rock bands) had meaning that modern bands don't. Musical talent more than just a few chords being played over and over.
It's all because of MTV and whats "popular", not what sounds good
