...although on Yahoo! Answers, I have been a major advocate, in voicing my shared dismay in the splitting of "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror" for DVD release (...the original theatrical presentation of "Grindhouse" is STILL the best way to experience these films), I really, and candidly must admit, I was most intrigued with the so-called 'extended' version of "Death Proof'...

...the inspiration for "Death Proof", with regards to Tarantino's love of road films, car chases (and crashes) was still most apparent, as well as his idealistic fantasy of being, for lack of a better phrase, a 'fly on the wall', with regards to the 'girl talk'; however, with this extended and re-edited version of the film (...this was reportedly the version shown overseas, in Europe and Asia), Tarantino's also appears to have drawn further inspiration from classic '70's European 'giallo' films, in particular, those of Dario Argento, and films like "The Bird with the Crystal Plummage" and "Tenebre"...

...the notorious lap dance sequence, which was the 'missing reel' in the original theatrical version of "Death Proof", was adequetely and invigoratingly heated, seductive, spicy and raunchy; however, after watching the original "Grindhouse", I had already pretty much filled in the blanks in my mind, as far as the lap dance, and had previously came up with something not dissimilair to what was shown in this re-edit...and almost, if not equally as provocative...

...once again, I must candidly admit being most intrigued with this cut of the film; as a result, I further raise a curious eyebrow toward the upcoming separate release of "Planet Terror", reportedly also to be extended and re-edited...

...now, if the folks over at the Dimension Pictures camp would decide upon a DVD release date for the original theatrical version of "Grindhouse"....

...ah, well...I guess we'll just have to stay tuned!!!
