This hoax theory came from a badly written Fox TV special that called the moon landing a hoax based on several speculations. For a site that debunks the whole show go to:

I believe that those who say the several manned landings and orbits of the Moon are either deluded or liars, cheats and fraudulently extracting money from a gullible public. The major figure in this set of filthy lies has been caught altering the soundtrack of one of the later missions to look as if it was faked. He has also been slapped or punched by Buzz Aldrin for stalking former Apollo astronauts.

This slimeball has been deliberately lying to sell cheap and nasty TV shows, fraudulent lectures and books.

If the Moon landings in 1969 and later had been faked thousands of scientists and radio experts around the world would have known straight away. Specially the Russians, but also Germans, French, Spanish, Australians, British, you name it. It is fairly certain that the Russians radar tracked the Apollo spacecraft part of the way to the Moon. They did not say "Fake!" Other countries might have done the same. Not all the scientists or engineers in the world are US residents or citizens.

Not everyone who worked on Apollo was a US citizen either, I know one Australian who was in on it and there were many more. Most of the staff of the ground stations in Australia were Australians, there were also ground stations in Spain. If the missions were fakes, how is it that these non-US citizens have kept quiet for 35 - 38 years?

Almost anyone who was good with tools and had a bit of money could build a suitable antenna and tune a suitable radio into the transmissions from the Moon. There is nothing secret about the construction of such antennas, I have a book on it right here.

The astronauts brought back hundreds of pounds of Moon rocks which were analysed by scientists all over the world. Not all of them were US citizens either. If those rocks had been faked those scientists would have seen it. In any case, the Russians also returned Moon rocks to Earth in three unmanned probes and published the analysis results. The American samples were consistent with the Russian ones.

The Apollo program came to an end because the US public lost interest, when that happened, funding dried up and NASA could not afford to send any more. And even in 1968, before Apollo 11, President Nixon, a Republican, began de-funding NASA. The Apollo Program was a Democrat initiative. The missions went ahead because the equipment had been built and the money had mostly been spent.

This site is devoted to the mostly Australian men and women at the Honeysuckle Creek tracking station in Australia which received some of the Apollo transmissions. You can hear one man talking directly to the astronauts on the Moon.

So something befell that become suspicious sufficient to make human beings draw that end. the government is able to each hoax and atrocity primary to guy. And the government has sufficient potential to tension even honorable men alongside with Neal Armstrong to lie.

No, I do not believe it was a hoax. I **KNOW** it was real.

I watched it happen live. I watched and listened and read as the accolades came in from all over the world, from friends and enemies, about our success.

And I have listened to thousands of ignoramuses try to make their feckless, silly claims and proofs that the US never landed on the moon, and I can debunk them all with nothing more than High School physics and astronomy.

We landed on the moon six different times. Build a bridge and get over it.

IF, the moon landings were a hoax, and NASA staged the whole thing on a huge filmset, do you not imagine the Russians, who were in possession of the technology to track the spacecraft and the subsequent radio transmissions, would have been the first to prove the hoax?

Even if we disbelieve the Americans, can we believe their space-race opponents would keep up the hoax on the Americans behalf?

I wish I had a dime for every time somebody asked that question.
.
Honestly as an American who is proud of his country's achievements in Space and watched all the launches, and followed all the missions, I have to say that I don't know how or why all the skepticism of the Moon landings have come about.
.
I remember that day and I can tell you that if they were faking that broadcast they must have had a monkey behind the camera. After waiting all my life for that moment I remember thinking what a crappy picture.
.
The proof is the laser reflectors that were left on the lunar surface which are still in use.

The moon trips were for real.

The simplest proof that they were real is that millions of ham radio operators listened in on the communications, aiming their antennas appropriately. They would all have to be in on the hoax too. Very unlikely.

All 9 trips were real, including the 6 that landed. If you though there was only one, you need to get a clue. They weren't exactly secret. They were in all the papers and on all the TV stations. It was a FAR bigger deal than you would think today. Today it hardly gets mentioned at all.

No.
I saw it, millions of other people saw it, thousands of scientists and technicians were part of the Apollo program for years before the first manned landing (there were a total of 6 landings, a total of 12 people walked on the moon).

Nope, but interestingly enough, the People's Republic of China kept their entire population ignorant of the event for almost 10 years after the fact.
