I think that your finding alot more doctors are enducing these days, and you also find the the number of multiple births are also increasing.

With this in mind, more and more doctors schedule cecereans, and enduced pregnancies on the weekdays. This frees their weekends up for golf! LOL

A lot of births these days are induced. I volunteer in a nursery at a hospital and they know each day how many births they're going to have because they're all C-sections or induced. Of course, someone could always come in in labor, but other than that, they know exactly how many they'll have for the day.

I agree with the above poster that it is doctors inducing labor and scheduling sections more often during the week than on weekends.
