Santa is at the mall because the mall pays him and his helpers big $$$$ to go there. Think about it, you sit there in an ornate setting from 10 am to 8 pm, 7 days a week, for a month. How much $$$ it must cost.

The mall recoups some of the cost selling the pictures, but the reason Santa is there is for $$$.

That, and it helps others know what little Johnny or Suzy wants for Christmas.

Chill out and have some fun
Santa has nothing to do with Christmas any way.

Bah Humbug to you!
Whats wrong with a little christmas spirit?? Children love Santa, as do parents ( who better to blame when kid doesn't get their pony???) and we'd all miss them if they weren't there.

You're absolutely right; Jesus' birth should be more than enough cause for celebration without all the superficial worldly elements that have been added to it.

It gives people something to do, and kids something to believe in.. I don't really care either way.. It's all about money anyways.. It creates jobs and lets people waste their money on crappy pics.. I'm all for it... woot woot..
