Hydrogen peroxide that's sold in stores is only 3%. The kind that you can buy from a chemical supplier like J.T. Baker is either 10% or 30%, and it can burn your skin or cause fires. A catalyst is a substance that speeds up a chemical reaction without being changed or consumed by the reaction, like platinum powder is used in adding hydrogen to certain compounds (such as unsaturated vegetable oils).

What kind of incendiary device are you trying to make that you need to add a catalyst to something that's already extremely unstable?
