Since that is not what he said, and you obviously have not even picked up the book...do people on here research before they ask a question? You just sound ridiculous.

"I was not saying that that's the administration's motive," Greenspan said in an interview Saturday, "I'm just saying that if somebody asked me, 'Are we fortunate in taking out Saddam?' I would say it was essential."
He said that in his discussions with President Bush and Vice President Cheney, "I have never heard them basically say, 'We've got to protect the oil supplies of the world,' but that would have been my motive." Greenspan said that he made his economic argument to White House officials and that one lower-level official, whom he declined to identify, told him, "Well, unfortunately, we can't talk about oil." Asked if he had made his point to Cheney specifically, Greenspan said yes, then added, "I talked to everybody about that."

Get it right. Greenspan says he told President Bush he needed to go into Iraq to protect the oil. The President said he wasn't going to go in for the oil.

Read what Greenspan wrote, not what the MoveOn spin machine is saying. Then you will have to apologize.

Oh never mind, you don't want the truth, so you won't read what Greenspan said. You will continue to live through others.

I guess the new thing is that Greenspan is somehow connected to the Bush administration? Lots of people say that, doesn't make any of them right.

They'll say he's a communist. People who listen to right-wing talk radio have no memory. They'll hear Greenspan is an old-school subversive and forget how the GOP used his opinions to justify all those tax cuts for millionaires for so many years. Just as they so quickly forgot John Murtha was pro-military and pro-war for decades before losing faith in the Iraq war.

Did Alan get a secret note from the president saying that? I'm thinking he was the Fed Chairman, not the Secretary of Defense. Who knew the Fed Chairman had so much access to the inner sanctum? Please, the man is trying to sell books.

They will attack and attempt to destroy Greenspans credibility. That is just what they do. Oh and I'm sure they will throw in that little "if the war was about oil why are gas prices so high" remark they are fond of. Further proof of their gross ignorance of everything in the world.
