I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to locate Aquarius in the sky. I am dumb to astronomy so basic info is required :( I tried to find the info out myself looking online but no luck. Thanks!

I found information online... and images...

Aquarius is better known because it's part of the zodiac. Otherwise, it might not be well known as it's hard to find.

If you're in the Northern Hemisphere, you won't see it. It's visible in the southern hemisphere.

The most distinctive part of the constellation Aquarius is the asterism called "the water jar". Locate Aquarius in the interactive sky chart at http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/skychart/?c=y&page=1
From the northern hemisphere the constellation is due south about 11:30 pm. The water jar is the "Y" of stars that forms the stick figure's pointy head. It's about the width of three fingers at arm's length. The rest of the constellation is south of there (below, in the northern hemisphere) extending to either side.

Its hard to describe how to find it without using astronomical terms. Right now, Aquarius is in the southern sky around midnight.

If you imagine where the sun travels in the sky during the day, that path is called the ecliptic.
Now imagine that same line in the sky at night. All the zodiac constellations (the so-called horoscope signs) lie along that line.
Aquarius is on that line, almost due south (if you're in the North Hemisphere).

If you have a good view of the sky, you should be able to find the constellation Cassiopeia, almost above your head (I am assuming you are in the Northern Hemisphere). Looks like a big "W". To the South of it you will be able to find 4 stars that make up a giant square. To the south of that you will notice, if you have good eyesight and you are viewing from a fairly dark place, Aquarius. It is in the Southern portion of the sky. Currently Uranus and Neptune are in Aquarius.

Use the sky chart on this site and set it for your city and date. It will show you where it is in your sky. A good pointer to find Aquarius is the "Great Square", the four stars in a square making up the body of Pegasus. Aquarius is south of the square.
