Ok for MMO's it's good ... just that and it will play other games such as shooters on average to low settings.
For that I will pay $600 without monitor and that's being generous.

Let me explain the current price of those specs:
Processor = $80
Motherboard = $60
2GB RAM = $120
200 GB HD= $80
Nvidia 6800 Card = $80
Power Supply = $60
Case = $60

I'd recommend a newer processor like an intel core 2 duo or for a little cheaper an AMD X2. It'll give you better performance. I would also recommend having him upgrade your hard drive to 250 GB or even more. It won't cost that much more. Wouldn't you rather have a DVD burner? You may not need it now but think future, it'd save you money. And if you do these upgrades go for vista. It's here to stay and once it really gets moving you'll be glad you did. Your config isn't bad but it's a computer that's not gonna last all that long.

Most important part: Graphics card,

http://reviews.cnet.com/graphics-cards/nvidia-geforce-6800-ultra/4505-8902_7-30837733.html

256MB of memory in the card, plus your 2 gigs of RAM should be enough for most gaming. With that much memory, you shouldn't have lagging issues, but you multitasking abilities are somewhat limited. The Processor is a little bit outdated being a 3.2Gghz P4. The newest systems are dual core, meaning two small processsors in one, that will add up to over 4.0 Gghz.

that being said: these specs blow my computer away, and mine does just about everything I need it to.

Yes, that's a good computer. It will be fine for your games. Compare it to MMO's recommended specs, it's probably way better. If you ever wanted to upgrade something you could, so no worries there.

You can play any MMO out right now with that. Lag is mostly from your internet connection. It's a good computer.

it's a good computer, but i suggest you change few things:

-procesor: better get core2duo, it's much better than pentium4

-geforce 6800 is old, get at least geforce 8600gt, it help when you play heavy games like battlefield2 (with 32+ bot) and supreme commander, and if you want to change to vista later

-get dvd-rw, the price different between dvd-rw and cd-rw is too little (less than US$10-15)

it seems which you have purely have been given out of a time device... i'm particular you have your reasons for dropping time/funds in such historic kit. Please tell me you're actually not spending over $a hundred for this way of beast. i'm particular you have your reasons for staying with 32bit... they are actually not valid or sane... yet i'm particular you will not supply it up until somebody pulls it out of your chilly lifeless arms. flow with any sort new much less high priced device (even $3 hundred) and purchase a USB floppy force. it will run circles around however you're development.

That is still a decent gaming machine. Graphics card performance should still be comparable with mainstream cards.
