Most DSL services require and provide a hub as part of the setup. Most companies offer a wireless hub. You will probably (ask your company) be able to make a temporary ethernet connection with the provided cable so the technician or you can set up the hub/modem to connect. From then on, you can undo the cable and carry your laptap where ever you want.

I have several ideas.
DSL is very easy to make wireless.
And most laptops have wireless router cards.
If not, you can buy a card and connect it to just about any router for less than 100. This use to be a lot more expensive, but as technology improves, prices decrease on the older technologies.

So, if you get DSL, see about getting a wireless modem from the start. AT&T gives wireless routers by default, so if you're going with them, and have a wireless card, all you'll have to do is set-up the card, which they'll often do for you if you don't know how. Most of it's really easy to do now. It basically sets up itself.

You can either get DSL with a Wireless Modem/Router. Or Get a DSL Modem and buy your own router.
Either way is easy to install and customize.
Qwest, if available in your area, is a GREAT DEAL - Price for LIFE. Not like cable where the price goes jumping around like a frog on hot glass.

I know that if you get a DSL Modem from Qwest, you can get a Wireless modem, negating you having to by a wireless router. Thats what I have at my house. A DSL wireless router, with my desktop hooked up wirelessly, and 2 laptops connected wirelessly. Apparently, wirelessly is not a word lol. Anyways, it's great idea, yet cable's a great idea also.

Yes sir.

Most new DSL modems now come with a built in wireless router. You can buy a wireless card from walmart or you might already have a wireless card in your lap top.

I would contact your local ISP and ask them "If i get your package will it come with a wireless router/modem." If the answer is yes then all you will need is that wireless card for your lap top and you would be all set up.

Most of the time the tech that installs can and usually have to make sure you are all set up. So before he/she would leave make sure that you they get you all set up.

Easy fix, get a wireless router and a wireless card for your laptop if it doesn't have one already (which most macbooks do I think). Simple and quick and now your DSL isn't a ball and chain

Once you get the DSL you will have to buy a wireless router. You just plug the dsl into that and then you will have wifi throughout your house.

Sure. You get DSL and connect it to a wireless router. Your DSL vendor probably has a wireless package if you don't want to fiddle with it yourself.

by the way, if you have a macbook, I would NOT recommend a Linksys router (they make great routers, but they and macs don't like each other. . you're better off getting a netgear router, or some other brand) (we just had this problem at work, and putting in a netgear solved it (nothing wrong w/ the linksys one, they just don't support mac and don't get along well with macs).
