Have you had sex (or a vaginal exam) in the past 72 hrs.? That can cause spotting. It's from all the excess blood flow down there. My doctor described it as being the same as "scratching the inside of your nose with your fingernail" - completely harmless. And brown blood is "old blood" that's a good sign.
If it gets heavy (or bright red) go to the ER. Otherwise sounds normal :)
I had spotting with my son up until 15 weeks. He's now a perfectly healthy 2 month old! :):):)
good luck! God bless!

It most likely is nothing. If it makes you feel any better I had brown discharge all through the first trimester and I delivered a healthy girl in May. Sometimes it just happens. I would definately go to your doc but most likely they won't have an answer. I hope my experience will ease your worries a little bit.♥

Look at the questions on this site there are a number of us here with the same problem. I hope that helps you. I had a miscarrage my 1st pregnancy it did start with redish brown blood at 6wks went for a scan it showed the fetus had died. I then went on to have 2 children now 9yrs later I am pregant again. I started to spot brown mucus at 91/2 wks rang midwife who got me to have blood test to measure HCG levels this was good so had scan this also showed a baby alive and at the correct stage of development for my dates. I have been spotting on and of ever since! mainly brown stringy but with the occassional red bit not alot but its there. Rang my midwife again today she is seeing me monday. she told me she was very happy with all the results of bloods and scan. and that she has had many women with light and even heavy bleeding delivery healthy babies. and that it is possible that I could have this off and on for some time. Still scaring the hell out of me!! but I just gota take one day at a time. The point is it seems to be common enough sometimes it ends bad but more often seems to be ok. If your HCG levels are good that a very good sign. allways report any bleeding bt it is very likely goin to be fine. I will keep my fingers crossed for us all!!

This is a normal thing, I had a very similar thing happen to me, however it was a full blown period...
Sometimes your lining will still shed abit of waste, in my case I had an air pocket behind the baby's sack, I streched the wrong way and the sack actually ripped from the wall enough to start the flow of blood, hence the period...it was perfectly safe and my boys were born perfect...
If you are really concerned though self diagonis is not always wise and you can accept all the advice from other that you want...however their is no right answer but the one your OBGYN can give you phone her with your concern and he/she will ask you to come in...simple.

That is completley normal im not really sure what it is i think it just has something to do with your body going through changes as long as it isnt bright red then you are fine and it is normal if you are still worried about it i would call your doc put i know it is normal

Could be anything from common early pregnancy spotting to a vaginal infection. That should be checked out right away.

I have no idea, since you are pregnant my advice would be to get to the doctors and get checked out asap, not only for your health but for your baby.
