A president, even though he was going for another point, declares Mandela dead, who gives an unwanted back rub to the German prime minister, who winks at Queen Elizabeth, etc.? I would question the sanity of anyone who isn't embarrassed by this clown!! Incidentally, those of you who continue to refer to anyone who disagrees with this moron as traitors know what part of your anatomy you can shove your comments!!!!!!!!!!!

"Part of the reason why there is not this instant democracy in Iraq is because people are still recovering from Saddam Hussein's brutal rule. I thought an interesting comment was made when somebody said to me, I heard somebody say, where's Mandela? Well, Mandela is dead, because Saddam Hussein killed all the Mandelas. He was a brutal tyrant that divided people up and split families, and people are recovering from this. So there's a psychological recovery that is taking place. And it's hard work for them. And I understand it's hard work for them. Having said that, I'm not going the give them a pass when it comes to the central government's reconciliation efforts."
Maybe if the Media would listen to the entire quote. That would be nice for a change.
So I guess the answer would be no.

I am embarrassed by Bush but also by liberals who are confused by Bush's statement
he is explaining (rather poorly) why he believes there hasn't been some Iraqi person rising up to take the lead towards democratic reform, like Mandela did in South Africa, and it's because Saddam Hussein killed people like that, and I think that's true. It has nothing to do with whether Nelson Mandela was dead or alive

No, but the Democrats are an embarrassment. Teddy Kennedy, Bill Clinton, Hitlery, Jack Murtha, Barney Frank, Nancy Piglousy, and Dingy Harry Reid. You dems should be crawling under rocks with these idiots in charge of your party. Oh I forgot to mention Howie Dean....he's the biggest embarrassment of all.

I'm pretty sure Bush's own vice president voted against a resolution urging South Africa to free Mandela in the 80's.

No, He is not a good public speaker. I accept that.
It doesn't take away from his passion for his people.
He doesn't do everything right, but I know that he is doing the best he can with the information he has. He takes everything very personally and his presidency has been hard on him. Probably one of the most troubled presidencies since FDR.
I think History will be kinder to him that America has been when all the documents are declassified and everyone gets to see just what he has been dealing with.

You libs are morons, the media even worse. In the context of his speech, he was mentioning the fact that Iraq does not have a person that would unite the country like Mandela did is SA. the reason, the Mandelas are dead. Hussein killed all of the mandelas!
Now stop smoking the weed and move on to something more important!

A lot of things about this country embarrass me these days, not just the President, though he has contributed.

Funny, CNN ran an obituary for Nelson Mandela in 2003, so it looks like some of you liberals thought he was dead too.
