This is a great song. Benny Mardones does a great job on it.

But performance aside... Yes, this is perverse as far as subject matter goes. And it is actually the great vocals done by Mr Mardones that make the song even more creepy in my opinion. He sings the song with such passion and conviction, that it just adds an extra creepy element to the song.

I always thought of "Into the Night" as the type of song where love is untouchable. He loves a young (16) girl but he knows he can't have her.

Now "Don't Stand So Close to Me" by the Police, while an awesome song, is actually quite perverted.

^Dude above me, that's not exactly perverted, they don't want her, it's between a teacher and a student. Just had to give you my 2 cents.


Yeah, actually every time I listen to Into The Night, I kind of get uncomfortable and my mom just loves and sometimes I just have to turn it over. It's wayyyyyyyyyyy perverted.

I also think "Don't Stand So Close To Me" might be autobiographical since Sting was a young teacher before he became a musician.
