I would not put a silver dollar in vinegar, I'm assuming you mean a Sacajawea dollar, which is made of only heaven knows what.

I cannot tell you what colors the coins become. Vinegar is acetic acid, a fairly week acid, but it can dissolve metals if left in contact long enough.

#1, I would try the experiment if you can do it #2 call a person in your class who did it and asked them what happened to the coin. I DID this once and my coin rusted and turned dark & dirty .Also I would suggest you use another coin to test it out and see what happens to it.
Good LuCK!

Vinegar is a cleaning material. The coin would become clean. (IT you put a bone in water it becomes soft, but thats an organic material, and thats because of the calcium.)
Both coins should just become sparkly clean. (or bendable????)

I believe if im not mistaken, it will actually clean the coin and make it shinier. Vinegar cleans and disenfects alot of things.
