How do I make a new dorm in the Sims 2 that I can move my sims in to?

I would like to build a dorm for my sims that I can customize, like put an exercise room in, and a music room...but when i build a dorm, it just comes up like a house, where my sims have to buy the lot. i want to make a dorm where other computer generated sims will move in too.

make your dorm on a residential lot in the college/university neighborhood.
then, when you are done, put this in the cheat box:
changeLotZoning dorm

and it will then become a dorm!

Go to the neighborhood and click the House mode button.Get one of the premade dorms and custimize it because you cant do that if they already live there though. If not ...to buy youre other houses there are money cheats to buy them....

There are premade dorms in the houses and lots tabs. Just place them like you would regular houses.
