What the heck is that?

I'm constantly getting annoying pop-ups that say Internet Speed Monitor on the top (if you can't tell, I have no idea what's going on). Sometimes they even pop up when I'm not even ON the Internet. How do I get rid of this?

I live in an apartment complex, and my Internet is through a cable modem (don't know if this matters). Anyone know what's going on?

1. click start.
2. click control panel
3. click add or remove programs(it takes a while to load).
4. find internet speed moniter & then delete it.
and thats about it.

Well normally it should be a program, that shows you the speed of each programs internet use.
But what probably tha case is, you just have som ad-ware on your computer...
That's basicly a virus that doesn't do anything except annoy you with constant messages showing on your screen.
I suggest you download a program called AD-aware, which is perfected to get rid of these... Antiviruses dont always find these pests, because they are not defined as viruses...
Below a link to a list of programs that are all designed against your problem

Yes, you have an annoying pop-up. What sort of antivirus and antispyware software are you using? Assuming that you have an up-to-date antivirus program, download, update and run Spybot Search & Destroy.

Spyware.
Download the following free software packages and scan with them. Also remember to update them. If you don't update they aren't as effective.

Spybot:
