I'm sure everyone has seen the "Chris Crocker-Leave Britney Alone" video, which I found to be completely stupid and a waste of time. Because someone in Hollywood thought he was talented, he's now famous, insulting those who have worked hard and gotten nowhere.

In an age where unnecessary behavior buys you fame, why has it become so important to so many of us?

Keep in mind, you can be successful and live a wonderful, happy life without being famous. Always trying to be the center of attention is such an unnecessary thing to strive for.

With all those attempting to gain faime and fortune. I don't think its neccesarily their doing, but rather the influence everyday life has. I mean you honestly can't say you've NEVER wanted to be the center of attention, or famous. Its just something we know we all want, but can't get. Its the adventure and thrill that keep people crawling over eachother to get to the top. But personally i don't see the need for it...

I think it is because people are biologically social. Now, they are replacing the people in their lives w/ technology, etc. They are removed from people. They require the attention out of a biological need for social interaction.

1) People have mixed priorities

2) The more people who become famous the less that actually have talent

1)People tend to support shows that make no sense whatsoever (i.e. watch garbage)

All in all, anything sells.....

I think its more of an insecurity thing. Many people equate attention as validation of them as an individual.
