Well, firstly, I think your teacher is biased. You should not have to support any of these statements. ><

A. Nicholas and Alexandra were the parents of a child who was in constant mortal peril. Alexei, their only son and heir was a hemophiliac. Often, their decisions were influenced by the stress put on them while trying to hide his condition, keep him alive, and run the largest nation in the world. In regards to their disdain for a constitutional monarchy, you cannot deny that things get done faster and with less buerocracy in an autocracy. Don't try to tell me you would want to deal with politicians while dealing with all the personal issues they were.

B. The Tzar and his family were killed because of the repercussions of WWI, not simply because it happened. However, the food shortages that the war caused provided the communist party the golden opportunity they needed to revolt. If Nicholas had not chosen to go to war on Serbia's behalf, food shortages would not have become so dire that communism seemed like a really good idea.

C. True fact. Though, he and his family might have been spared the horrific death they experienced if WWI had not occurred. The primary reason that the monarchy was overthrown in the first place was Alexei, through no fault of his own. His terrible condition kept Nicholas from being able to think rationally about many situations.

a. Nicholas was insensitive to the people, pure and simple.
He promised to respect a legislative body representing the people after the disastrous 1905 loss to Japan in the Russo-Japanese war, but then he failed to keep his promise.
Alexandra was little better. These were very rich, very privileged people who were accustomed to having everything their own way. In a word, they were "spoiled" - putting it in simplistic terms.
b. During WWI Nicholas was at the front leading the army (very badly) and Alexandra was home minding the country. She was more concerned with her small son who had hemophilia than she was with the people. There was almost certainly bad advice from the insane monk Rasputin who was thought, by Alexandra, to have some mystical healing powers to help her son.
c. This one is less clear. The war created an intolerable situation. I suspect the Tsar and his family may have survived a bit longer without that huge stress on the people and the country.

his mindet was that he was tsar and he must rule. the people are the ruled and they must follow as a matter of course. this was not the case.
