First thought: You've been reading too many "parenting" books. RELAX.
Second thought: You've got way too much time on your hands if you're worried about this...relax and enjoy the moment, it'll disappear forever when your 3 month old turns to a mobile 12 month old.
Third thought: all children develop at their own rate, not according to some prescribed owner's manual. however, if it really concerns you, point it out to your pediatrician. You should be seeing him or her regularly and they will watch for all the developmental steps to fall into line for your son.

I am sure that he is Ok. Give him just a few more days or perhaps 2 to 3 more weeks, & I am sure that he will start looking at his hands & fingers. Babies seldom go on an exact time-clock based on a rule book.
If after a few weeks he still is not looking at and studying his hands & fingers, it would be a good idea to take him to the Doctor for a check-up to make sure that he is Ok.

GOOD question! My son is turning 3 months old this upcoming Tuesday and he hasn't done it either!! I totally expected him. The only thing he does with his hands right now (that he is conscious of) is sucking on them when he's hungry. I don't think it's a big issue and should happen in the next few days or weeks. Good luck!

All babies develop at a different rate. No worries, he will eventually. My daughter turns 3 months in a few days, and she's been exploring her hands for a few weeks now, and putting everything in her mouth. Maybe he'll start doing that later, and walking earlier than other babies! You never know!

All babies develop at different rates. 3 months is still very little, give him time, and he'll be fine. If he seems to really have a big lag in skills, check with your pediatrician.

The developmental guidelines are exactly that; guidelines. You shouldn't be concerned unless your son shows other signs of developmental problems. If you're still worried, ask your ped. Good luck, momma!

okay.... Thanks for telling us.
Each kid is different. He doesnt have to notice his hands and fingers because experts say he should.
Keep exciting bright toys before him, and within his reach, help him reach for them and put them in his little hand, and he'll do the rest.
