Many people get their start in the acting world in what is known as community theater. Community theater literally draws people from the community at large for a wide range of performances and quite often no experience is required.

Most major cities, such as Orlando, have audition notices for films and theaters in the local newspaper on a regular basis. I recommend calling the paper and asking when they are published. If they are not published in the newspaper, call a local theater group and ask them where you can find out about auditions. The American Association of Community Theatre www.aact.org is an excellent place to find places to audition.

There is no guarantee that you become a famous actress, but wihtout getting on stage, or in front of the camera, you simply won't develop the contacts you need to go on to bigger things. Also, I've had many friends take a bus to Hollywood to become an actor, only to have them return after they find out there are more opportunities locally for such things as commercials.

With regard to commercials, there is usually one or more talent agents within the average city and they are always willing to listen to someone new. If you can't find one in the area, call a local theater group and ask if they know any. The odds are excellent that someone you speak to will already have an agent.

Never pay for an agent or an audition. It's a ripoff. The saying is "If they ask for cash, it's time to dash."

With regard to "I'll do anything." Please be careful. There are creeps out there who love to take adavantage of people your age under the pretense that they can give them the big break they want. Rather than say I'll do anything, you might want to stress that your interested in pursuing this career and it will probably be one of several careers that you will build with time.

Some advices are to learn English better.
You apply to agents to see if they might be interested in you.
If an agent asks for money, say no.
Hollywood isn't what you think it is. Anyone can go. There is no fence around it.
Drama classes in school? Good, but won't impress an agent.
Not my problem, it will eventually take some money to be an actress.
You don't have to pay for auditions, but you do need professional acting classes and photographs and a book or two. It is everybody's dream, they all want it, that is what makes it so hard to do. You are not willing to do anything, Treason and Crime and immorality are not going to help..
You have to get into the school plays and do some acting;
You can try to get into community theatre casts to do some more acting.
Keep track of all the information about all the acting you do.
Save up about $300 and when you have it find an acting class you can afford. Look for TV and Film Acting classes. When you can afford $10 there is a book you need. Click on my name and read my profile and write to me at my aol address and tell me how old you are and the name of your city. I help people become actors for free.

I have worked in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and have accumulated a wealth of knowledge. When I started out, I didn't have much information and spent countless weeks, months and even years learning the ropes by trial and error. I know how valuable information and resources are to people who are starting out from scratch. So I recently decided to use some of my spare time to create a blog with Disney Channel casting notices, audition information, information on getting an agent, demo-reels, resumes, etc. There are far too many scam artists out there who take advantage of those actors who are trying to make their dreams come true. The information and casting notices I provide are totally free and legitimate. Hopefully I can save some people a few bucks and a lot of footwork.

(I have also created a sister-site Hannah Montana Auditions, and a general Acting Auditions site)

Sincerely,

Alan Baltes
