Please, could someone please explain them. I understand that if you need to find f(g(x)) then you should replace g(x) with f(x), but I dont understand how to do that!
Let's say its this:

Find f(g(x))
f(x)=5x+4 g(x) = 4-x

Can someone explain how to do this, and when you replace g(x) with f(x), why do you get rid of the x in the f(x)?

substitute the 4-x in the f(x)

so f(x)=5(4-x)+4

= 20-5x+4

=24-5x

One is composed inside the other. Since g is inside f, then the function is also. f(g(x)) = 5(4-x)+4 = 20 -5x +4 = -5x+24. Just put the inside function everywhere there is an x.

Just follow the bouncing ball. Remember that x is a number, but so is g(x). So to find f(g(x)), replace x in f(x) by g(x). Then f(g(x))=5*(4-x) +4=
24-5x

Given

f(x) = 5x + 4
g(x) = 4 - x

Find f(g(x)).

f(g(x)) = f(4 - x) = 5(4 - x) + 4 = 20 - 5x + 4 = 24 - 5x

Find f(g(x))
f(x)=5x+4 g(x) = 4-x

fg(x) = 5(4 - x) + 4

That's the answer, it's best if you can see how it works by example imo.
