I was told that I waited too long to attempt to collect the 5 years worth of maintenece my ex was supposed to pay me. He never paid me a dime. At the time I was meek and mild and did not like to stand up for myself against him. Now I am good and peeved and want was was ordered by the courts. I cannot believe that too much time has passed, as I was married to the man for over 20 years. I reside in the state of NY. Any help would be appreciated.

I cant directly answer your question but I do know my sister collected over $25,000 from her first husband and this was a good 15 years after he left her. By then her children were grown and he was still forced to pay back payments he never paid. You need to talk to an attorney.

There is no spousal support in New York. So your ex husband doesn't owe you any. You'd better check your divorce papers before you go after something you may not be entitled to. The only way you would be able to collect is IF there was a maintanence order in the papers...I know in MY papers (from New York) it states that the only way I can become elligble for spousal support is if I become incompacitated and unable to work at all, otherwise as long as I am able to support myself that's who supports me.

Ten years after the tax is classified. The tax is classified after the return is filed, or after the IRS prepares a exchange return. So, in case you have not filed for 1990, the IRS ought to nonetheless practice a return for you, examine taxes, and attempt to collect it till 2018. in case you filed a return for 2007 on time, they might attempt to collect the taxes till 4/15/2018.

All you can do is contact your attorney. He will be able to tell you
if this is fact or not.....sounds like bull to me actually......if it is in a legal document, he should still have to pony up the cash
