Only one of the greatest musicians of all time!! John Denver was such a classic in the 70's, he wrote wonderful songs like "Annie's Song" and "Rocky Mountain High". You've got to listen to him! Unfortunately he passed away in a helicopter crash, but he will always live on. GO JOHN!

John Denver (December 31, 1943 – October 12, 1997), born Henry John Deutschendorf, Jr., was an American folk singer-songwriter and folk rock musician who was one of the most popular artists of the 1970s. He recorded and released some 300 songs, about half of which he had composed, and was named Poet Laureate of Colorado in 1977

He was an American folk singer-songwriter and folk rock musician he died 10 years ago next month. On October 12, 1997, Denver was killed when the Long-EZ aircraft he was piloting crashed just off the coast of California at Pacific Grove, shortly after taking off from the Monterey Peninsula Airport.

There used to be a bumper sticker 'Get John Denver out of Colorado'. He used to live in Aspen and was a sugary sweet, treacly country/folk singer.
