what engineering does one have to do if they want to design cell phones and other small gadgets?

i am mostly intrested in designing the model of the cell phones and other electronic gadgets like iPod and other gadgets etc...., however i got my self enrolled in computer science engineering, bcz i am also intrested in the functionality and stuff, but is this degree sufficient and what sector of product development will i mostly get a job with this qualification

That would be electrical engineering, but there is a lot of overlap between the two fields.
