What do you think of this essay?

I really like it and find it inspiring.

Whatever floats your boat, but I am not into punk. Therefore I do not find it inspiring, I find it sad that a 29 year old would even need to write that essay.

Not sure what the point is. It seems that the author is in an outgrown rebellion against society, but offers no alternative besides "Punk" and "Benevolence".
Punk is music, fashion and typically angry lyrics and already holds a place in our society, (incidentally I happen to like a lot of older punk rock). Benevolence is something that also is largely practiced by most of our society, maybe not so much in the young "punk" community, but it is not something which requires some revolt to achieve.
I think this person resents seeing his friends grow up and conform to the world, but the reality is that the world would not function if everyone behaved like an angry rebellious teenager.

I view revolution as something deeper than what I put on my body (as I am sure the author does as well). I think he is probably overly harsh on the old friends he considers "sell-outs," who have possibly found ways to continue the revolution within the status quo.

I get that he doesn't want to be judged. But wants to retain the right to judge others. To me that is hypocrisy.

Find a corner of the world, claim it and fill it and there you find success.

He's work very hard at being true to his inner calling. The world has a lot of problems. I really like this and will quote this line: "We must never stop trying to better ourselves and the world around us."
