depends what business you want to go in to i think that if you go to college you have a better chance of getting a strong stable position at a good job. Of course college is expensive but if the job pays well and your willing to work hard its worth it

Instead of 4 years of college you can do a 2 year associate degree in Marketing with a community college or tech school. THAT degree will help you with business and look good on a resume.

I would also look at using the library for business books, marketing, etc. training yourself from the ground up. The more research you do, the better off you'll be and the more serious people will take you. (Also, make sure you're good at spelling, nothing kills an attempt to look professional than spelling errors!).

Super entrepreneurs can make it in the big world without a college education. If you have an idea and a great business mind, go for it. If you don't have both, get a college/university degree. You'll develop an inquisitive and discriminating mind while you develop relationships with people who can help you. Not a bad way to spend 4 fun years. Good luck, sweetie.

Well, a business like what your talking about needs up front capital (moolah $) if you have that you can do anything you put your non-spelling self too! Just Joking...

A true business man can make money with little to no money down. He has a knack for talking, walkin and chewin gum at the same time.... But, it doesn;t just take this...he has to be genuine and convincing. He can multi task holding down a couple of jobs to get the dough and put his business plan to workk. He puts himself in the company of others who have already done it, to learn the tehcnique. He humbles himself until he grasps the game. Then he executes. A true business man knows when to execute and knows when to back away. (smart to shady scams)

Good idea to attend college first. Lots of colleges have buisiness major programs. These are just 4 year bachelor's degrees. I doubt that staying an additional 2-3 years for an MBA will help too much if you want to own your own business, but talk to your advisor.

Repost this question clarifying what kind of business you are looking to get into. For me college was a HUGE waste of time and I'd be in a much better position had I never gone. The only good thing about college were the girls.

If you want to work for someone else, you need to meet their educational and experiential requirements. If you want to run a business of your own, the need for college will depend on whether you will be or hire the specialist(s) and what kind of specialty it is. Chances are you will have to have some kind of training or mentorship regardless, but it's too broad a question for a yes or no answer.

Depends on your level of knowledge... can you run a business? Do you know enough about bookkeeping, management (hiring/firing/interviewing), taxes, investing, borrowing (interest accrual and calculation, payoffs, diff. types of loans, etc.)?

I recommend you attend college, perhaps Business Management. Don't rule out local business colleges if there's one near you. The more practical education may serve you better.

Most of what you NEED to run your own business is available to you free, but you have to know what you need and where to get it... if you have a mentor you can get it without college.

If you can afford to have a college degree I would suggest that you get it. It really pays to have a degree to get you to where you want to be. Some people get post graduate courses to further improve their chances in life. If all you want is a simple life, then it's really your choice.
