No, the 7th book was the final book in the Harry Potter series. However, there is the possibility of a Harry Potter encyclopedia. Also, Rowling did say once earlier this year that she wasn't going to say she might never play in the Harry Potter universe but that she wouldn't do anymore in the Harry Potter series. And there is a difference between doing more in the HP universe and the HP series. The HP series has Harry as the main character, a book featuring one of his kids as the main character with him being a minor character or not even appearing would not be a part of the Harry Potter series. It could be in a seperate series, but because it's featuring his kid and other familar elements such as Hogwarts it would be set in the Harry Potter universe.

I doubt there will be a "Harry Potter" 8 - that series is finished, the story is told...
On the other hand, books set in "The Wizarding World" could be a possibility. It's such a rich and detailed setting, and JKR has already done an extra book or two for charity. If someone was to come up with a new/unique story within the setting. [My predictions are that James Potter II is just like his namesake, Rose Weasley and Scorpius Malfoy end up together, and Al Potter ends up in Slytherin (since his initials are ASP). I'd also like to see what happens with the Potter/Weasley extended family.]

Um...no.
JKR said from the very beginning that she would only do 7, one for each school year.
She is now working on a mystery novel.
However, she has said she might re-visit the world of Harry Potter in 10 years or so, but write about a whole new set of characters.

I very much doubt that there will be a 8th book to the series.....J.K Rowling intended it to revolve around Harry Potter's seven years at Hogwarts......and there wouldn't be much to write about, now that Lord Voldemort is dead....I mean it would sort of lose its element if there was another book.
By the way Harry Potter series is the BEST!!!! i have read the books around 10 times each.

No. No. There is not. JKR has made it official. No more books. Sad, yes, I know, but there will be no more. There are a lot of unanswered questions, but if you look a little bit on the interent you can find interviews where she answered those questions. Good luck. Cheers

I feel like there should be, but the dedication tells me otherwise. It says "and to those who have stuck with Harry until the very end". Boo Hoo!!
