i have 1gb ddr2 pc5400 installed. if i get another gig, will i notice any difference in games? what else will improve?

i also have a dual core pentium d 3ghz and a geforce 8400 gs 256mb. ram is going to be the cheapest upgrade for me but i still want to know if its worth it.

If you are using integrated graphics that share with system RAM, there could be some improvement in games but minimal in other applications especially if you are on XP. There could be significant improvement if you are on Vista.
Take note that game performance (frame rates) is much more dependent on the graphics card.

You'll notice some improvement in the speed of large programs like games because the computer is able to load more into memory and does not have to load data off the hard drive as frequently. You may also notice that your operating system seems a little faster.

you should notice an improvement thats a lot of ram. Your computer should run like a race car.
